About Allergenius®
Allergenius® as a brand was created in 2014 by the company Medi-Tec, with the aim of offering effective solutions for fur allergy. The founders of the company are the Swedish researcher and associate professor Hans Grönlund and the author Liza Marklund.
Liza had always loved cats, but her severe fur allergy made it impossible for her to have pets. Despite several attempts with so-called "low-allergenic" fur animals, she was always forced to give them away, which was a great sadness for the whole family.
In 2010, Liza read a newspaper article about Hans Grönlund, who had developed a pioneering vaccine against cat allergy. Despite this revolutionary discovery, the pharmaceutical industry showed no interest in funding further research, as the market for symptom-relieving drugs turns over several billion kroner every year. This meant that a curative vaccine would threaten their financial interests.
Liza was upset that this important research was at risk of being stopped. She contacted Hans to see if there was anything she could do. A few months later, they started Medi-tech together, and subsequently the Allergenius® brand was formed with the goal of truly relieving fur allergy.
