Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common medical condition that affects the bladder, urethra or kidneys. It is usually caused by bacteria entering the urinary tract and can cause symptoms such as painful urination, frequent urination and sometimes abdominal pain. UTIs are more common in women than men and are usually treated with antibiotics after diagnosis with a urine sample. Drinking enough water and maintaining good hygiene are important preventive measures to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections. If symptoms appear, it is wise to consult a doctor for appropriate care.

With Screenit, you can easily test if you have a urinary tract infection in just 2 minutes. The test contains a test stick which, in contact with the urine, can detect leukocytes, nitrite, blood and protein.

In the event of a positive response for leukocytes, blood, nitrite or protein, a doctor should be contacted for further investigation and possible treatment.

Collect urine in the provided plastic cup.

1. Open the foil bag and take out the test strip. Do not touch the test strip. It is recommended that the test be performed immediately after opening the bag.

2. Dip the test strip into the urine. NOTE. Hold down the test strip and make sure all four test fields (color maps) are submerged for about 1-2 seconds.

3. Then pick up the test strip and wipe off excess urine against the edge of the container or with a paper napkin to avoid mixing other chemicals from the environment.

4. Wait for 2 minutes. Do not read the result after 3 minutes. Read the result for each parameter separately and compare the color with the accompanying color chart.

It is recommended that a urine sample be taken in the early morning because the urine is most concentrated then. The urine used for the test must not come into contact with water from the toilet or any agent.

The test is only intended for women and must not be performed during menstruation or within three days after menstruation. The urine sample must also not be contaminated with body fluids as this can give a misleading result.
