Best in tests according to Råd & Rön

We are very proud of our products, so it is extra fun when one of our best sellers is the best in tests! This has been noticed both in newspapers and on TV. Göteborgsposten wrote "Best in Råd & Rön's test is Allergenius Dog Special Shampoo, which is also one of the more expensive products in the test. It contains neither allergenic perfumes nor allergenic preservatives.” Read more here.

Best in test on news morning

Here are some excerpts the test.

"The range of dog shampoo is enormous and for the test we have selected 20 common varieties. If you look at the products, it is clear that they have been developed to tickle the desire to consume in husband and wife. Here you can find everything from funny bottles with dog bones as corks and tubes with witty names like Hair of the dog (meaning restorer in English), to more stylish bottles with an understated design. Many write that the shampoo contains "natural" ingredients that "add nourishment and moisture to both skin and fur" and that they are for "itchy, irritated and sensitive" skin. But our review shows that the content is often not so natural and beneficial for the dog.”

"Our analyzes show that 16 out of 20 tested shampoos contain at least one allergenic perfume substance. By allergenic we mean for humans, as there is a lack of studies we do not know how they affect animals. But in animal products they are unnecessary, it is not the dog that wants to smell peach.”

"Three dog shampoos contain such high levels of allergenic perfumes that they receive the lowest possible rating for this. The shampoo with the most allergenic perfume substances contains the substance lilial, which is prohibited for use in cosmetics. Even that shampoo therefore receives a bottom rating for the presence of allergenic perfumes.”

"Dogs' skin has a different pH than humans' and therefore you should always use special dog products, even the mildest baby shampoo does not work for dogs. The pH value should be around 7.5, if the shampoo is more acidic it can make the dog's skin sensitive and cause irritation."

"We have both reviewed whether the manufacturers indicate a pH value and measured the real value of the products. Many are too low and a few have too high a value. A dog shampoo has a pH of only 5.4, even though it says pH balanced on the packaging.”

"Overall, it is not easy to find a dog shampoo without allergenic substances and which has the right pH value. The best in the test is a product which, with its 960 kroner per litre, is one of the more expensive products. But for those who want to wash their dog non-toxic, it is a better option to choose an expensive, good product and not wash the dog so often instead.”
